Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has charged newly sworn-in Commissioners, Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries to immediately settle down to work and sustain the administration’s development momentum as it enters its final phase.
The Governor gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony at the Government House, Gombe, where he reminded the new appointees that they have less than one year to justify the confidence reposed in them.
After nearly three months without a State Executive Council following its dissolution in April this year, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya inaugurated a new team to drive the administration’s final phase in office.
One after another, the Commissioners, Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries took the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance, pledging to faithfully discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya reminded the new appointees that they have less than one year to make meaningful impact, urging them to hit the ground running without delay.
He said the administration’s achievements over the past seven years must be consolidated through discipline, integrity and improved service delivery, warning that corruption and indiscipline would not be tolerated.
“You have less than one year to make your mark. There is absolutely no time for learning or institutional orientation. You need to hit the ground running immediately.”
The newly inaugurated Commissioners, speaking shortly after taking the oath of office, expressed appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to work collectively towards consolidating the achievements of the administration.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya also called on traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to support the new officials in delivering effective governance and sustaining the state’s development trajectory.
