Governor Mohammed signs Zamfara 2023 Appropriation Bill into law, priorities security

Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed has signed the N184.8 billion Appropriation Bill into law as the State 2023 budget.

The governor had on 17th November, 2022 presented to the State House of Assembly N188.8 Billion as the 2023 Appropriation Bill.

The Zamfara State House of Assembly after consideration reviewed downward the estimate from N188.8 billion to N184.8billion.

The 2023 budget estimate was trimmed down by N4 billion which affected capital and recurrent expenditures.

Governor Bello Mohammed while signing the 2023 Appropriation Bill said security got the highest allocation, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to tackle the security challenges facing the State.

He appreciates members of the State House of Assembly for passing the 2023 Appropriate bill within few days after its passage, which is an indication of good relationship between the State’s lawmakers and the executive.

Governor Mohammed also said his administration will continue with the construction of the international cargo airport and other road infrastructure to make life better for the citizens of the State.

The Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Muazu, after presenting the passed 2023 Appropriation Bill to Governor Bello Mohammed for assent said the State’s lawmakers will continue to support the executive to ensure judicious implementation of the budget by playing their proper oversight.
