Delta state governor Sheriff Oborevwori says his administration is positioning the state to become Nigeria’s education hub.
The Governor stated this on Tuesday during the inauguration of the governing councils of the four state owned universities, shortly after swearing -in the state Auditor General, at the government house in Asaba.
Addressing the newly inaugurated State Universities Governing Councils, Governor Oborevwori tasked them to operate strictly in accordance with their enabling laws and apply disciplinary measures whenever rules were breached.
The governor also charged the new Auditor-General, Matthew Oghene to discharge his duties with utmost transparency and avoid political witch-hunting.
Governor Oborevwori urged all the appointees to pursue policies that would strengthen corporate governance.
