Four traditional rulers across the three local government areas of Ukum, Logo, and Katsina-Ala in Benue North-East Senatorial District, North-Central Nigeria have been suspended for alleged misconduct.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kenneth Achabo reveals those affected to include District Head of Ngyen in Ukum LGA, D. Ijah and the District Heads of Ichongo, Terngu Iorhuna, and that of Ipusu, Enoch Kyumen in Logo LGA. The other affected second-class traditional ruler is the District Head of Tir, Johnson Boi in Katsina-Ala LGA.

The suspended monarchs were immediately replaced by new chiefs appointed in an acting capacity by the Paramount Ruler of the Tiv and Chairman, Benue State Traditional Council, HRM, Tor Tiv V, Professor James Ayatse, and the Tor Sankera, Abu King Shuluwa.
The statement added that the Tor Sankera had also appointed Philip Saamaaya as the acting District Head of Tir in Katsina-Ala LGA.
