Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma has flagged off the rehabilitation of rural roads in the state.
Performing the ceremony at the Heroes Square, Owerri, Uzodimma stated that all broken down infrastructure in the rural and urban areas will receive a facelift soon.
Uzodimma pointed out that some of the equipment to be used were among the looted property recovered from the past administration.
He said the equipment will be deployed to the rural communities under the direct supervision of the interim management committee chairmen of the 27 local government areas.

The commissioner for special projects, Kingsley Ononuju, maintained that the flag off was aimed at ensuring smooth and passable roads at the grassroots.
He however, commended the governor on his resolve to improve road infrastructure in the state.
