Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike says the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC has abandoned thousands of abandoned projects today because they were not properly conceptualised, politically awarded, or not properly funded.
Governor Wike who stated this at the commissioning of the Nigeria Police Force Special Protection Unit, PSPU, base 6, Omagwa, said the NDDC has become a cash cow for politicians for funding their electoral activities.

The Rivers State Governor also frowned at what he says is lack of synergy between the NDDC and state governments.
Speaking at the event, Chairman house committee on NDDC, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, who heaped praise on Governor Wike for his developmental strides in the state said the problem of abandoned projects not restricted to the Niger Delta States alone.
