Governor Abba Yusuf has successfully activated the consensus mode for political positions in Kano State ahead of the 2027 election.
Rising from a meeting with stakeholders in Abuja on Sunday, former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau was unanimously chosen as the candidate to fly the All Progressives Congress flag for Kano Central Senatorial District in the 2027 election.
Kano Central Senatorial District is a crucial entity in North West State politics. The voting population is massive and can be regarded as a deciding factor in Kano politics.
Though Governor Abba Yusuf has been able to pull other areas to join the consensus train, the win in Kano Central Senatorial District appears to be the Trump card for the governor.
The governor made it emphatic that Kano would not look in its efforts to unite the people.
The consensus arrangement is expected to create a cohesive and smooth party administration as the 2027 election gathers momentum.
