The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has identified security challenges as one major impediment as it prepares for Governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo states billed for November 22, 2023.
INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu said this when he inspected mock accrediting exercise in three local government areas of Kogi State on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
The exercise also took place simultaneously in Bayelsa and Imo states.

He said the commission was already working with its security agencies to provide secured environment for a peaceful and credible election.
Yakubu also spoke on how the Commission intends to tackle problems of flooding during the election in flood-prone areas in Kogi State.
