In its commitment towards promotion of sustainable development within the Nigerian communities, a non-governmental organization, Pax Bonum Foundation for the Needy is set to organize “Community Heroes Award 2022” in collaboration with Global Times News Agency Europe and Integrated Business School.
In a press conference jointly addressed by director of Pax Bonum foundation, Very Rev Fr Paul Arinze Obi, Chief Executive officer of Global Times News Agency Europe, Ikram Uddin, and Prof. Emeka Ikenga-Dennis of Integrated Business school, Fr Obi said that the annual Community Heroes Award is aimed at recognizing people, groups, organizations, and businesses who have made a difference in our various communities.
The award ceremony which will be held at Delta state University Abraka on July 14th, 2022 is targeted at rewarding individuals, corporate organizations, companies etc who have contributed towards the development of their communities.
The event with the theme: “Be a Change Leader”, is envisaged to assemble global and local change-makers who have contributed and still contributing to their immediate community and willing to cause positive impart to their community.
While urging credible and interested individuals, groups, businesses, and organizations to visit the Foundation Office at 14B Jehovah Street Abraka Delta State for the nomination Forms, Fr. Obi reiterated that the award categories and criteria for nomination is designed to recognize different categories of change agents viz,
Business Contribution to the Community category designed to recognize local businesses that have demonstrated commitment to their local areas; Helping hands category designed to recognize individuals, who help to create stronger communities by supporting others to live happily; Lifetime achievement category designed to recognize those who have shown a long-term commitment to voluntary work and have made a significant contribution to their communities over ten or more years; Young Person achievementcategory designed to recognize the young people (under 18 years) who inspire and drive change in their communities, and who act as role models for their peers; Community Project of the Year category designed to recognize the projects and initiatives that have improved our borough and helped its local communities; Environmental Award category designed to recognize individuals, projects, and groups that have made great strides towards tackling climate change and environmental issues, he added.
