Gunmen numbering about 40 have kidnapped the traditional ruler of Rubochi in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Esu of Rubochi, Ibrahim Pada, is a third class chief in the nation’s capital and a member of the FCT Council of Chiefs.
On October 27, gunmen believed to be bandits fleeing the military onslaught in Zamfara and Katsina States in the North-West, also stormed Rubochi and seized two persons including a policeman known as Selven.
As at the time of this report, Police authorities were yet to make any statement on the abduction of the royal father.
The Police and other security agencies had on October 10 launched a joint counter-operation to rescue kidnapped victims in the territory and secure vulnerable communities especially around the Kuje-Pegi-Rubochi area.
