Unknown gunmen have abducted a WAEC official, Adebayo Gbenga and three other unidentified travellers at Oba Akoko on the Owo- Akungba Road in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, South-West Nigeria.
Gbenga who is working at WAEC office in Akure took his son to the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) and a friend of his to school when the incident happened.
Spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident. He says an investigation has commenced into the incident and the police would do everything possible to ensure that those abducted regain their freedom.
Gbenga, who was driving his Toyota Corolla car was accosted with other motorists on the road by gunmen.
Gbenga’s friend and his son reportedly escaped from being kidnapped as they quickly opened the door of the car and ran into the bush.
