Two Policemen and two civilians were reportedly shot dead by gunmen on Sunday at Inyi Police Station in Oji River Local government area, a border community between Enugu, Anambra and Imo States, South East Nigeria.
Reports say the gunmen stormed the station, opened fire on anyone in sight and set the building ablaze.
A villager told ait.live on phone that the heavily armed gunmen were chanting “No election, No police in Biafra land”
A viral video shows a building being used as a police station on fire and the bodies of two young men lying by the perimeter fence, while some background voices tried to identify the casualties as one Police officer who was on duty and a civilian who had gone to lodge complaints.
The Enugu State Police Command has reacted to the incident, saying its operatives are on the trail of the masked hoodlums.
