Gunmen have again kidnapped another Traditional Ruler in Plateau State, North Central Nigeria and this time, the Village Head of Langai, Umar Mohammad Zarme, in Mangu council area of the state.
The incident which occured on Saturday 15th October, 2022 happened shortly After the Isha’i prayers (Muslim prayers between 7.30 -8.00pm). at the central Mosque in Langai.
The National President of Fyam Chiefdom Iliya Manu, who confirmed the incident told AIT, that the gunmen alleged to be Fulani Marauders had their members lay ambush on the district, while one of them joined him at the Mosque and followed him behind to a dark spot where they started shooting into the air to scare the community and to alert his fellows who rushed out of their hiding and whisked the Village head away.

He added, that the abductors had established a contact through the village head’s phone and are demanding 20 Million Naira ransom.
Spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command ASP Alfred Alabo, Confirmed the report and said the Police are already in the bush trailing the abductors.
