Gunmen have again launched an attack on the Ebubeagu Security outfit in Ebonyi States, South East Nigeria, killing two of its operatives.
The incident occurred Friday night at the popular Ebebe junction, Ogbaga road, just about three kilometers away from the Ebonyi State Police Command headquarters, Abakaliki.

The Command spokesman, SP Chris Anyanwu confirmed the development to AIT, but did not give details. An eyewitness said the gunmen stormed the area on motorbikes, with their faces masked. “They started shooting at the Ebubeagu personnel who were on a stop and search mission in the area, and about two of them were gunned down”, the source said. No fewer than ten operatives of the state government-run security outfit have been killed in different attacks across the state, in the last two months.
This is coming amidst allegations that the operatives are being used as a political tool against opposition politicians in Ebonyi State, though such reports have been vehemently denied by the Government.
