Gunmen kill two, injure others in Kogi church attack

Unidentified gunmen have invaded a Celestial Church, Blood of Jesus Parish, killing two persons and injuring several others in felele Lokoja Kogi State.

According to a source who spoke with ait.live, the Gunmen in their numbers invaded the church at about 8:00pm on Sunday, opened fire at the members who are residing within the confines of the church.

The attack is the second, coming few weeks after another church was attacked around the corridors of Felele area of Lokoja.

The dead bodies have been recovered and deposited at the Federal Medical Centre Lokoja, with the injured receiving treatment in yet to be identified facilities.

Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Williams Ayah, confirmed the attack, saying two females were killed, with others receiving treatment.

He said the Kogi State Police Command has deployed men of the command to the area with a view to arresting the perpetrators and bringing them to book.
