First batch of the total 2,281 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia from Niger State, North-Central Nigeria have departed the Bola Tinubu International Airport Minna.
The intending pilgrims promised to dedicate their spiritual journey to praying against the insecurity bedevilling the country and Niger State in particular, as well as for the return of peace and unity in Nigeria.
A total of 2,281 intending pilgrims from Niger State are to perform this 2026 Hajj exercise at Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The first batch of 345 intending pilgrims, comprising 227 males and 118 females drawn from Chanchaga and Borgu local government areas of the state, have committed to praying for the return of peace, unity and security in the country and Niger State in particular.
Niger State Governor, Umar Bago and the Amirul Hajj and Emir of Agaie, Yusuf Nuhu, urged the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state throughout their pilgrimage.
The 2,281 intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise from Niger State are to be airlifted in six batches with the last flight slated for Sunday, May 17.
