How to change the narrative and equip Nigerians with basic knowledge on healthy food choices formed the trust of discussions at the First Nigeria Heart Logo Month Summit in Lagos State.

High Consumption of Ultra Processed food Products like salty snacks, Processed Meat, and other packaged Products are associated with high risk of Obesity, hypertension, stroke, cancer, type 2 diabetes and depression.

This National Summit of the heart logo awareness month by the Nigerian Heart Foundation brought together health experts from across various discipline to educate the masses on how to identify healthy food options admidst the growing burden of non- Communicable diseases across the country

The Nigerian Heart Foundation food labelling programme was established in 2003 in Partnership with NAFDAC.

The programme aligns with global best practices similar to initiatives implemented by Heart Foundations in countries like South Africa, the United States of America, Finland, and New Zealand.
