Niger State
IDP's

Lack of basic amenities has become a source of worry for the Internally Displaced Persons taking shelter in schools located at Kuta and Bosso towns in Niger state.

There are over 3,075 registered persons, who left their houses as a result of activities of bandits, kidnappers and cattle rustlers.

The director social development, Shiroro local government, Musa Kuta says 33 persons were registered from the different villages in the area.

The camp has few toilets and the people have neglected social distancing thereby exposing them to the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.

There are also not enough provision of other basic necessities of life.

The camp is receiving people on daily basis, as a result of constant attacks on the locals by bandits and kidnappers.

At Bosso primary school camp, the desk officer says, the persons are from Madalla, Manta, Jiko, Gungi, Shani and Gurmana villages.

The Chairman, Shiroro local government council, Sulaiman Chukuba, could, however, not be reached for comments.
