Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, says anyone who invests in the future of children earns his admiration, noting that this is why his administration commits about one-third of the State’s budget to education.

The Governor spoke at a grand reception held to welcome home and honour the immediate past Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, now retired.

After years of guarding Nigeria’s waters as the nation’s 22nd indigenous Chief of the Naval Staff, retired Vice Admiral Ogalla returned home; not in uniform this time, but to a hero’s welcome.

The reception brought together government officials, traditional rulers, military officers, family and friends to celebrate a man many described as one of Enugu State’s finest ambassadors.

Governor Mbah said the legacy of Ogalla goes beyond military service. He praised the retired Naval Chief for his commitment to education and human capital development, saying those are values his administration shares through its record investment in the education sector.

Speaker after speaker described Ogalla as a disciplined, humble and selfless leader, whose years of service have left a lasting mark on both the military and the nation.
