A former federal lawmaker, Senator Ben Obi has narrated the role former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar played in ensuring that the infamous “Third Term Agenda” in 2006 did not materialise.
Obi made the disclosure at the 70th birthday lecture/book presentation for the Founder/Chairman Emeritus, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
Recounting how the “Third Term Agenda” was shot down, Obi said Atiku provided him and others in the anti-Third Agenda group tremendous back up to knock the bill down in the Senate.
He identified other masterminds as Dokpesi whose house he said the plan to defeat the agenda was hatched with six persons including himself in the plot.
According to Obi, the group grew bigger with new menbers like current Minister of State for Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, late Senator Dahiru Maccido, Uche Chukwemerije, and Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi joined the group to defend Nigeria’s constitution.

“We are here to celebrate one of Africa’s icon and in doing so one has to recognise the fact that this great icon and media guru had brought so much joy and entertainment to most homes in Africa and beyond.”
“Dokpesi established the first privately owned radio and television stations and to the glory of God runs the biggest broadcast stations in Nigeria today”
