As Nigerians mark the 2026 Easter celebration, the Christian Association of Nigeria in Niger State is drawing attention to worsening hardship and rising insecurity affecting livelihoods across communities.

In an Easter message titled “Be Hopeful, Be Resilient and Be Compassionate,” the State CAN Chairman, Most Reverend Bulus Yohanna, says persistent attacks, loss of lives, and displacement have continued to disrupt farming activities and deepen hunger among residents.

He is urging both Federal and State Governments to take urgent and decisive steps to address insecurity and improve living conditions, stressing that the season calls for practical solutions to citizens’ suffering.

Bishop Yohanna also called on Christian faithful to reflect the essence of Easter by showing compassion, reaching out to the needy, widows, and orphans through acts of kindness and support.

While acknowledging efforts by security agencies, he urged Nigerians to remain prayerful and supportive of leaders, expressing hope for lasting peace and national recovery.
