President Bola Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and a woman who has stood by him through every season of their lives.
In a heartfelt birthday message, President Tinubu praised the First Lady for her patience, grace, courage and steadfast faith, saying she had remained a constant source of counsel and support throughout their years together.
According to the President, “Àwọn àgbà sọ pé, ‘Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀,” which means, “The elders say, a good wife is her husband’s crown.”
He added that the Book of Proverbs also speaks eloquently about the worth of a virtuous woman.
Tinubu said Oluremi had given those words true meaning in his life, standing by him through difficult periods, sharing his burdens and praying with him when the future was uncertain.
The President also praised the First Lady’s compassion, kindness and commitment to supporting vulnerable Nigerians through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Tinubu said her interventions had touched the lives of young boys and girls, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country, while those affected by tuberculosis and other diseases had also benefited from her advocacy.
The President said her compassion transcends boundaries of tribe, region and religion, noting that she has helped many people without necessarily knowing them personally.
Reflecting on their years together, Tinubu said their journey had been marked by difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer. He declared: “If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you.”
The President thanked his wife for the life they have built together and prayed that God Almighty would grant her many more years in good health and joy.
He also prayed that the years ahead would bring the First Lady the same comfort and happiness she has given to him and many others.
