Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Dusu has assured of speedy rescue of worshippers abducted by terrorists from jumaat mosques in Dekara, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria.

Disu, who gave the assurance in Minna, the state capital, during a one-day working visit, also assured parents and students of the safety of schools as another academic session is set to resume in some weeks’ time.

The IGP said he has come to Niger State to reassure families and loved ones of the August 21 mass abduction of worshippers at Dekara of their safe return.

This is as the Police have deployed, in collaboration with other security agencies, all modern technologies and other intelligence-gathering components to ensure their safe and speedy rescue.

As schools are set to resume in September for another academic session, IGP Disu also assured parents and students that there is no cause for alarm.

Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Elleman said despite the operational difficulty in policing the state due to its land mass, men and officers of the command will continue to remain resolute.

The visit of the IGP to the Niger State Police Command has further boosted the morale of the officers and men, as he assured them that President Bola Tinubu is working on their welfare to ensure they perform their duties with professionalism and a sense of responsibility.
