States and the Federal Governments have been advised to enact stringent laws that will hold those indulging in illegal crude oil refining culpable and treat them like criminals.
This is the view of environmental rights activists in Port Harcourt, Rivers State while raising alarm over the impact of illegal refining of crude oil on the Environment , health and wellbeing of the populace.

Illegal refining of crude oil which is also known as “kpo fire” is now a brisk business in the Niger Delta region and it was also alleged that some security personnel aid the heinous crime against humanity.
