Resident doctors of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH have commenced a 7-day warning strike.
The Association of Resident Doctors of the hospital took the action to press home their demands hampering on service delivery in the hospital and the welfare of their members.

The warning strike commenced with a peaceful protest at the premises of the hospital as the doctors alleged that the management of the teaching hospital despite repeated dialogue and negotiations have not been able to provide lasting solutions to most of the lingering problems.
Addressing journalists during the protest, President of the Association of Resident Doctors in the hospital, Lanre Olosunde noted that topmost on their list of demands and most paramount is the persistent and worsening shortage of resident doctors which has resulted in fatigue and over working of their members
While reacting to the development, the head of corporate affairs of the hospital, Olabisi Ajiboye promised that the management will look into some of the demands of the doctors
Some of the demands of the aggrieved doctors include recruitment of new doctors to ease the heavy work load, provision and repair of basic amenities, oxygen and radiation monitoring badges and reading of existing ones among others.
