Ilorin the Kwara State capital was today shut as a result of the mega protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its affiliate unions in the state, to compel the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency, implement its agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The Acting State Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, his NLC counterpart, Issa Ore and others, advised the Federal Government to address the lingering ASUU strike without further delay, and not to risk shutting down the nation’s economy.

Other participants at the protest also advised Nigerians to vote for competent and intelligent leaders, who would value education and the future of the country, come 2023.
Leaders of the unions in the state assured that the protest will continue tomorrow, Wednesday.
