The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 36-year-old lady identified as Joy Uchechi Nwachukwu, who reportedly left home for work at a cooking gas servicing station, located on the Toronto/Road Safety by MCC Road, Owerri, Imo State and never got home.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Michael Abatam narrates how detectives from the Police Headquarters uncovered a shallow grave at the back of her workplace, where the victim was buried after being brutally murdered.
According to Abatam, preliminary investigations revealed that Joy, who doubles as the Secretary and Cashier of the Gas Plant, may have been killed, because of the significant role she plays in the running of the company, as the owner of the gas plant who resides outside the country, entrusted the business in her care.
Detectives are said to have searched the vicinity of the company after spotting blood stains on the wall of the back of the cooking gas station, a trace which led to the discovery of a shallow grave, buried with a shovel, a cutlass and the decomposing body of the deceased.

The Police spokesman in the statement notes that operatives reasonably suspect that the two items recovered in the shallow grave are the murder weapons used in killing the victim.
