As peace gradually returns to Imo state, after weeks of security breaches, residents have appealed to the relevant authorities, to sustain the peace.
Speaking to ait.live correspondent Nkoli Chukwumaife who monitored the situation in Owerri, the State capital, the residents urged the state government to provide jobs for the unemployed youths.
About a month ago, activities of the unknown gunmen took the centre stage in Imo state, leading to unwarranted killings and burning of police stations, while citizens also lived in perpetual fear.

Three weeks down the line however , there seems to be peace in the state , as a result of the coordinated efforts between the government and the security operatives.
They also warned against the abuse of the social media, the major tools for circulating unfounded stories.
Meanwhile, the state Police Commissioner, Abutu Yaro, has reaffirmed his commitment to restore normal life activities in the state
Imo recently witnessed the assemblage of stakeholders, youths and religious leaders, who were determined to tackle the issue of insecurity in the state.
