Despite the Friday sit at home order declared by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOP, Imo residents also celebrated the Independence day anniversary with fanfare.
The people, including top government functionaries and security operatives, gathered at the Heroes Square, Owerri, to mark the day.
Speaking on the peaceful co-existence in Imo, Governor Hope Uzodimma, urged those sabotaging the country for selfish and political gains, to desist from the act and consider the future of the country.

The Governor however warned residents to present themselves for C;ovid-19 vaccination.
Highlight of the event, was the release of pidgeons as symbol of peace and the cutting of the anniversary Cake.
