The Edo State House of Assembly has called on the Chief Judge of the State, Daniel Okungbowa, to set up a seven-man committee, to look into allegations of perjury and divulgence of official secrets, levelled against Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.
The call for the setting up of the investigation panel is coming up at the Anthony Enahoro Assembly Complex in Benin City, after his alleged failure to respond to the claims, and upon expiration of the time attached to the impeachment notice served him.
The majority leader of the House, Charity Aiguobarueghian, says nineteen out of twenty-four lawmakers voted in favour of setting up a seven-man committee by the Chief Judge of the State, Daniel Okungbowa, to look into the allegations.
