The India-Africa Summit scheduled to commence next week in New Delhi has been postponed.
India’s foreign affairs ministry made the announcement on Thursday citing the “emerging public health situation” in Africa, but no mention of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo was made.
The Indian foreign ministry said new dates for the summit will be finalised in due course.

The four-day event was to take place next Thursday with leaders from Africa joining Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to deepen cooperation on trade, investment, innovation, development, digital technology, sustainability, and global governance.
India’s foreign ministry said the decision was made in consultation with the Africa Union Chairperson and the A.U Commission.
