After months of internal crisis and legal battles within the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), the Independent National Electoral Commission has formally recognised the faction led by Dr. Agbo Major.
INEC has also restored the NNPP’s original logo on its portal, confirming the legal standing following disputes that had split the Party into rival factions.

Dr. Agbo Major, described the development of INEC recognition of his leadership as a turning point for the party, saying it signals a new phase of stability and repositioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The NNPP, founded in 2001, gained national prominence during the 2023 general elections, finishing fourth in the presidential race.
