The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reinstated the leadership of David Mark as National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on its official portal, just hours afte Supreme Court judgement.
INEC had earlier removed Mark’s name, alongside that of Rauf Aregbesola as the party’s National Secretary, as well as other members of the party’s leadership, from its records.
The Commission said its decision was based on its interpretation of the ruling of the Court of Appeal, which asked parties to maintain status quo antebellum.

The commission’s decision triggered days of political tension and uncertainty within the party and across the wider political landscape.
