The Bauchi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ibrahim Abdullahi has said that the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC) is determined more than ever to deepen the use of technology in enhancing openness and transparency in elections in Nigeria.
Abdullahi stated this when he met with stakeholders to deliberate on the ongoing online pre-registration of voters for future elections in the State.

He said Bauchi State has recorded over 2000 applicants for the pre – voters registration even as INEC prepares to commence physical registration soon.
Other Issues raised include election security, the need to prevent foreigners from voting as well as engaging more with Bauchi based Civil Society Organizations especially in the area of election monitoring.
It is the second of such meetings with the stakeholders in Bauchi State aimed at ensuring hitch-free elections in the State.
In their separate contributions, the Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Bauchi State, and the representative of the Civil Society Organizations in Bauchi asked the commission to carry them along to get rid of foreigners during the process.
