The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Anambra State, South East, Nigeria, has given a response to growing concerns on real-time voting and transmission of the 2027 Nigeria general election results.
At a stakeholders’ meeting in Awka on Friday, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Queen Elizabeth Agwu says the electoral body is yet to migrate fully to a virtual voting system, implying that the world should not expect polls outcomes real-time.
Agwu, who highlighted the Commission’s preparedness ahead of the forthcoming general elections, reiterated its preparedness to conduct free, fair, and transparent exercise.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner told her audience that the majority of the staff have been trained, and more BVAS machines procured, pointing out that INEC has undergone infrastructural audit across states.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner also disclosed that the display of the Voters’ Register has commenced, encouraging the electorate to verify their details for claims and objections.
