Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has confirmed that injured former heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua was discharged from hospital late Wednesday evening, having been certified clinically fit to continue his recovery from home.
Governor Abiodun made this known in an interview with journalists at the crossover night service into year 2026 at the Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Ake in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The Governor led a minute silence for Anthony Joshua’s friends, Lateef Ayodele and Gami Cina, who lost their lives in a highway accident on Monday, December 29.

He also disclosed that the driver of the SUV vehicle has been discharged and is being investigated by the Ogun State Police Command and may be prosecuted if found culpable.
Meanwhile, the deceased have been airlifted to the United Kingdom for burial by their families.
The Governor advised drivers to obey traffic rules and be careful while driving.
