Insecurity: 15 persons killed in Beri, Mariga LGA, Niger State

NIGER

No less than 15 persons have been killed by gunmen in a fire exchange with the residents of Beri Community, in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State.

The gunmen said to be in large number, stormed the community in the early hours of Monday, mostly on motorcycles.

Sources said the locals who were also armed, engaged the gunmen shortly after the invasion in fire exchange for hours.

The gunmen reinforced to overpower the Beri Community locals. Before leaving the community, the gunmen set the Police Station ablaze.
