The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar, has emphasised the need to restore the old value system as a strategic approach to addressing insecurity across the Nupe Kingdom and beyond.
The traditional ruler stated this when he received a delegation from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College on a courtesy visit at the Wadata Palace in Bida.

The Etsu Nupe emphasised the importance of community policing and grassroots participation in strengthening the security architecture, noting that traditional institutions remain critical partners in intelligence gathering, conflict resolution, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.

He further intimated to the visiting participants the structural organisation of the Nupe Kingdom, highlighting the roles of district, village, and ward heads in maintaining order and fostering unity among the people.
Leader of the delegation, Air Commodore Olamiju Obasa, explained that the visit formed part of the study tour activities of participants of the College appreciating the contributions and patriotic services rendered by the Etsu Nupe during his service in the military.

Air Commodore Obasa also enlightened the traditional ruler and members of his council on the statutory responsibilities of the College, particularly in training senior military officers and enhancing strategic leadership for national development and security management.
