Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki says tackling the insecurity challenges being faced across the state will be intensified as he begins a second term.
Speaking at a Thanksgiving Church Service, Governor Obaseki said restoring Edo state as the “home of peace and security”, will be pursued with renewed vigour.
The event was the finale in a series of activities marking the second term inauguration of Governor Godwin Obaseki, and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.

Christain clergy at the event such as the General Overseer of the Spirit and Life Bible Church, Apostle Deb’rah Eunice Osagiede, the Archbishop of the Benin Catholic Archdiocese, Augustine Akubeze who gave the homily, asked the governor to convey the concerns of the people on the need for fairness, justice, and peace, to the Federal Government.
President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Reverend Felix Omobude assured the Government of the support of the Pentecostal fold at all times while insisting that the citizenry have a role to play in ensuring peace and progress.
An elated Governor, Deputy Philip Shaibu, the Secretary to the State Government Osarodion Ogie, and the Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Marcus Onobun, led the service in rendering thanksgiving songs.
