Ahead of Saturday’s Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections, Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba has ordered the restriction of movement from 12 am to 6 pm on election day in all states where elections will hold.
In a statement released on Thursday evening by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja, only personnel on essential services are exempted from the movement restriction.

The IGP also reiterated the ban on all security aides to VIPs and escorts from accompanying their principals and politicians to polling booths and collation centres during the election.
He urged all citizens to be law abiding during and after the elections and said all necessary security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that voting is done without fear.
