Since the introduction of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS, in the country, there has been a significant level of transparency and reduction in fraud.
Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris stated this at the opening of a training programme for IPPIS role players in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.

The office of the Accountant General of the Federation brought together, IPPIS role players in the Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies from states in the South-South region of the country for a two-day training programme.
The Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris represented by the Director, Consolidated Accounts Department, Salawu Zubairu says the training is to keep them updated and while listing the benefits of the system.
Idris pointed out the reason for the introduction of IPPIS
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, represented by his commissioner for finance, Linus Nkan appreciated the training and hopes it will benefit role players.
Director of IPPIS, Nsikak Ben expects the trainees to be better equipped after the exercise.
IPPIS provides a platform for computer application in government payroll management as it calculates each employee monthly basic pay, bonuses, arrears, national housing fund, and pension contributions.
