The Irigwe people of Bassa Local Government Area in Plateau State are calling for increased security presence in their communities to halt the persistent attacks and killings in the area.
The demand came during the mass burial of eleven persons allegedly killed in an overnight attack on Nbrazongo village.

Grief and anger filled the atmosphere in Nbrazongo village as residents gathered to bury eleven community members reportedly hacked to death while asleep on Thursday night.
Eyewitnesses say the nature and scale of the attack raise serious concerns, insisting there may be more behind the incident than is currently known.

Community members say government has a constitutional responsibility to protect lives and property, stressing that the continued attacks suggest security efforts are not yielding the desired results.

The affected families and residents are now appealing to government and security agencies to take urgent steps to end the violence and prevent further loss of lives in Plateau communities.
