The Joint Action Committee, (JAC), of the Academic and Non-academic staff Unions of Bauchi State Tertiary Institutions, has threatened to embark on an industrial action if the Bauchi State Government fails to meet up with their demands.
The members of the union said this shortly after their meeting at the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi.
Among their demands are the implementation of annual increments, outstanding and pending salaries, and the immediate disengagement of the consultant in charge of salary administration of Bauchi State.
After crucial deliberations on the challenges of their members, they also called on the Bauchi State government to take immediate action on issues of their promotion, persistent omission of names of their members from the payroll, despite the genuineness of their appointments.
The union alleged that for members whose names were removed from the payroll, plausible and unjustifiable excuses were given by the authorities.
The leadership of the unions are from five higher institutions of learning in the state.
