The government of Japan says it remains committed to strengthen relations with Nigeria across all sectors of the economy under the incoming administration.
Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, MATSUNAGA Kazuyoshi said this during an event organised by the Embassy in Abuja to commemorate the 63rd Birthday of the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito.
The Japanese Ambassador told the gathering that Japan aspires to be a partner that will grow together with Africa hence the focus on investments in people.

He added that over the next three years, Japan is going to invest 30 billion dollars from public and private financial contributions in Nigeria and other African countries.
Kazuyoshi also said that Japan has been actively promoting start-ups and digital transformation in Nigeria, targeting the younger generation, talented youths and entrepreneurs.
Nigeria’s minister of State, Budget, and National Planning, Clem Agba, said that Nigeria and Japan have maintained cordial diplomatic relations since Nigeria’s independence in 1960 and this will not change with the incoming administration.
