The expanded National Executive Council of the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, and Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations, AHPA, have issued a fresh 15-day strike notice, at the expiration of the initial 15-day ultimatum midnight of Friday, September 17, 2021
In a communique issued and signed by acting National Secretary of JOHESU, Mathew Ajorutu, an indefinite strike Is likely to begin from midnight of October 2, 2021.
In Other resolutions reached at the end of over eleven hours meeting in Abuja, the body is asking the Federal Ministry of Health to ensure speedy circularisation of all establishment and welfare matters as agreed during the various negotiation
meetings.
It wants the Federal Government to ensure that the new data for the computation of the adjusted Consolidated Health Salary Structure, CONHESS, for JOHESU members be completed and submitted to the “High Level Body” of the FG not later than Wednesday, September 22 2021 as agreed.
JOHESU urges the Federal Government to ensure that the “High Level Body” completes and submits the computation of the adjusted CONHESS for inclusion in the 2022 budget before the September 30, 2021 submission window.

It adds that the Federal Government should reciprocates the patriotic humanitarian gesture of the health workers in the interest of the larger Nigerian masses to expeditiously resolve all the demands within the fifteen-day window.
JOHESU Urges President Muhammadu Buhari to show understanding with his administration and fulfill his pledge to pay any debt owed health workers.
