Nigeria’s foremost e-governance consultant Jonah Ubanmhen presents a blueprint on a Broadcast Institute to the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission, NBC.
A Broadcast Institute that will transform the Nigeria Broadcast space is set for Launch on February 17, 2023.
This point was made by Jonah Ubanmhen at a media event held recently in working on a blueprint for Nigerian broadcast institute, a vision plan for a ‘future-ready Nigeria’.
Jonah who pointed out that the broadcast regulator had to achieve a step-function change in his objective along with Nigeria to be future-ready. There have been roadmaps being sought to develop institutions, along with facilitating both public and private sector in achieving the goal. He added that, there is need also to have a system in place, across all levels and sectors for Institutional collaborations with foreign government bodies, international agencies and Institutions ‘to better involve them in Nigeria’s growth story’.
The terms of reference laid out for him demand the initial requirement to identify and conduct a ‘gap analysis’ of the domestic capabilities in government and private sector, both along with the most advanced international capabilities across sectors to identify strategic areas where Nigeria has competitive advantage, given a defined timeline.
Also, benchmarking regulations, procedures and processes to international standards and aligning them to global standards has been listed as a major area of work. Technology has also been identified as an important area of work.
Jonah needs to identify focus areas to position Nigeria as a leader in such sectors and incorporate a framework to leverage technology across all sectors.
Along with this, the broadcast regulator also demands Jonah to access disparities across all sectors, regions and states and also suggest measures to reduce them.
Jonah hails from the Esan south-east local government of Edo State. The home town of Ewohimi community. Currently, Jonah is the leading new age Nigeria and right for all Nigerians.
