Following the unrest in Plateau state, Adamawa state government has evacuated over a hundred and fifty thousand indigenes of Adamawa State studying at the University of Jos in Plateau State. The students arrived Yola Adamawa state capital at about 7:30pm on Saturday.
Eleven buses were used to convey the one over one hundred and fifty students. They were accompanied by heavy security personnel.

The Commissioner for youths and sports, Aloysius Babadoke received the students at the Adamawa state secretariat yola at about 7:30pm. He said the government sees it as a responsibility to ensure the safe return of the students.
President of the National Union of students’ Jos chapter, Titus Iliya commended the swift reaction of the state government in evacuating them. He narrates how they were already experiencing a shortage of basic amenities.
According to reports, the recent crisis in Jos has so far claimed the lives of four students.
