Cross River State Police Command has barricaded all suspected protest ground in Calabar, the state Capital, following the proposed planned nationwide rally to commemorate June 12 celebration.
The areas barricaded includes Millinium Park,Freedom park at Mary Slessor,Atekong Junction, Mobi and Rabana Roundabout among others.
When ait.live moved round Calabar,Police operatives were seen stationed on some strategic locations in the ancient city with periodic stop and search of vehicles.

Security forces led by the State Commissioner of Police,Sikiru Akande had ealier warned youths to stay at home and not to embark on any protest, warning that any law breakers would be dealt with decisively.
Also the Special Adviser to Governor Ben Shade,Christian Ita,had issued a statement announcing ban on public rally and protest in Cross River State.
