The Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo-Okon Abasi-Otu the fifth has urged Muslims to imbibe the spirit of godliness and peaceful coexistence with other faiths as they begin the new Ramadan Fast across the Country.
The Efik Monarch made the call in Calabar when he received South-South Muslim Stakeholders led by the Federal Commissioner In charge of the region in the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, at his Adiabo country home.
The Traditional ruler urged Nigerians to see themselves as one, irrespective of religion, ethnic or tribal differences, calling on the Muslim faithful to use the period of Ramadan to pray for one indivisible, united and secure Nigeria.
Earlier in their remarks the NAHCON Federal Commissioner in charge of South South, Ustaz Sadiq Musa, and a Calabar-based Scholar, Muhammed Okofaiye said they were in Calabar as part of preparations for Ramadan and to educate the Ummah on peaceful Co-existence in the region.

The Obong expressed optimism that Nigeria will overcome its current challenges,urging everyone to think positive toward the country.
