The paramount ruler of Pushit District in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria, HRH Diket Gupiya who was abducted by gunmen has regained his freedom.
The District Head was released on Saturday after spending nine days in captivity.
The monarch who was said to be a close relation of the Plateau State Deputy Governor, Sonni Tyoden, was abducted from his palace in Pushit community on February 24, 2022 around 9pm while watching television.
A family member Salama Pa who confirmed the release to ait.live said Pushit community has been in a celebration mood since the return of the paramount ruler.

Also confirming the development, spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, Gabriel Ubah, said the monarch has been reunited with his family.
The abduction of the Pushit District Head was the third time gunmen attacked traditional rulers in the state in the past two months.
